    Location
    Yamaguchi Prefecture
    Start of operation
    2021

This is the first large-scale solar power plant to be connected to an extra high voltage power line, among the solar power plants completed jointly by the Tokyo Gas Group and the Shizen Energy Group. Located on the site of a former golf course, the EPC contractor, Shizen Engineering, has refurbished the aging drainage facilities.
To prevent sediment from leaking out of the power plant, five sediment basins within the plant are regularly inspected and dredged. In addition, a 7 km private transmission line crosses above the Yu River and passes through a bamboo forest, therefore we frequently patrol and inspect the line and cuts down trees. Local partners cooperate in periodic weeding and emergency inspections in order for us to quickly respond to any problems.

  • Osato Solar Park
  • Category
    Extra-high voltage/high voltage
    Generation
    capacity
    28.8 MWp
    Location
    Miyagi Prefecture
    Start of operation
    2019

This is a large-scale solar power plant with four large regulating ponds for flood control measures. In addition to extensive solar panel cleaning and weeding, regular dredging (removal of sediment from the ponds) is performed. The area is known for its heavy snowfall and has experienced heavy snowfall in the winters since 2020, but we have systematically removed snow using heavy equipment to prevent power generation losses. juwi Shizen Energy conducted the EPC and juwi Shizen Energy Operation oversees O&M.

  • Ozu Solar Power Plant
  • Category
    Extra-high voltage/high voltage
    Generation
    capacity
    34.0 MWp
    Location
    Kumamoto Prefecture
    Start of operation
    2019

This project has 9 kilometers of private transmission lines, and O&M is conducted at high elevations, including the transmission towers. The power plant is located on a gently sloping mountain slope with good sunlight, and weeding is systematically carried out to prevent power generation loss due to vegetation. The plant is dredged frequently to prevent the drainage from affecting the surrounding rivers. Developed by Shizen Energy, EPC by juwi Shizen Energy, and O&M by juwi Shizen Energy Operation, providing consistent services as a group.

  • Akita Odate Shizen Energy Solar Power Plant
  • Category
    Extra-high voltage/high voltage
    Generation
    capacity
    2.2 MWp
    Location
    Akita Prefecture
    Start of operation
    2015

This plant is located on a former meat processing center owned by Odate City, where land that had been unused for about 20 years was revitalized and utilized as a solar power plant. The site is in a region with heavy snowfall which required ingenuity in design and construction. After the start of operation, the plant continues to be monitored closely for snowfall and snow accumulation in order to respond flexibly to snow removal in cooperation with local partners. This is an example of how the Shizen Energy Group has demonstrated that it is possible to conduct a solar power generation project systematically, even in an area with heavy snowfall through appropriate EPC and O&M.

  • Shibushi Matsuyama 1st, 2nd, 3rd Solar Power Plant
  • Category
    Agricultural solar sharing
    Generation
    capacity
    2.2 MWp
    Location
    Kagoshima Prefecture
    Start of operation
    2021

This agricultural solar sharing power plant is spread across a total of 3.4 hectares of land, including agricultural fields and utilizing abandoned farmland in Shibushi City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Grass farming is conducted under the power plant, and the solar panels are operated on a 3-meter-high mounting structure that allows agricultural machinery to move below. Due to the high elevation of the mounting structure, semi-annual inspections are conducted by drone. The inspections are also conducted in coordination with the farmers. There are several power plants managed by our company in the neighboring area, and we manage them in cooperation with local partner companies. Although the area is frequently hit by typhoons, to date there has been no major impact from typhoons to the power plant, and stable power generation has continued. The cultivated grass is sold to nearby livestock farmers.

  • Kagoshima Kirishima Solar Power Plant

    Extra-high voltage/high voltage
    Generation
    capacity
    20.0 MWp
    Location
    Kagoshima Prefecture
    Start of operation
    2016

This project involves a relatively long-distance, 13-kilometer private transmission line, where O&M is performed at high elevations on some parts of the transmission line that have aerial wiring. To prevent losses due to transmission line problems, frequent tree trimming, and appropriate annual statutory inspections are performed.
Developed by Shizen Energy, EPC by juwi Shizen Energy, and O&M by juwi Shizen Energy Operation, providing consistent services as a group.
